Info & Eligibility

This scholarship was formerly known as the Cherokee Nursing Conference Scholarship (CNCS).  

Ten (10) winners will be selected to receive US$2,000 toward the costs of attending an approved continuing education conference, which can be used for registration fees, transportation, lodging, and or other conference-related expenses.  

 

This scholarship is open to DAISY Honorees registered with The DAISY Foundation who have not won a Cherokee Nursing Conference Scholarship (CNCS) within the past two years.  

 

All applicants must include a link to their Spotlight profile on The DAISY Foundation website. 

 

Note: You can find your DAISY Award Spotlight link by searching for your name here. If it doesn’t appear, please contact the DAISY Coordinator at the organization where you received your DAISY Award and ask them to submit your name and information to The DAISY Foundation, which will provide them with a link to share with you. Key dates: 

 

The 2023 Application period has closed (as of June 30, 2023).  Winners will be contacted via the phone number and email provided in the application no later than September 15, 2023.

 

The 2024 Application period will open on April 1, 2024. At that time a link to the online application will be available on this site.

We will not consider applications submitted via email, U.S. mail, or any other method.

Prize rules and restrictions:   

 

To be eligible for reimbursement with your HHCS funds, your selected conference must offer continuing nursing education (CNE) credits AND begin on or before June 30, 2024.  If you would like to attend a conference starting after that date, you must get approval from Healing Hands in advance.  

 

Scholarship funds may be used for registration fees, travel, lodging, and other conference-related expenses.  

 

Winners will be required to submit a signed Authorization to Release Information form, Publicity Release form, Consent to Photograph form, Conference Enrollment receipt, a digital photo of themselves, banking information (for funds disbursement) and a completed W-9 form (for tax reporting purposes). Winners living outside the United States will be required to provide a completed W-8 form.  
 

All funds will be disbursed in U.S. dollars. 

 

Winners must agree to work with Healing Hands to create social media and web content for promotional purposes.
